The Resident Party Planner

by Mrs.Mayhem on July 28, 2010 · 12 comments

My mother recently retired after 45 years of accounting excitement, so our family hosted a small dinner for her.

Everyone pitched in:  Wolfgang made the cake and set the table.  Vincent made the potatoes, following the recipe with precision.  As a result, his version tasted much better than when I make them using the throw-all-the-ingredients-in-a-pan-and-hope-it’s-edible cooking method.  Eloise, our resident party planner,  went crazy with the decorating, even constructing a glittery crown for her grandmother.

Bonus photo:  I just love her death grip on her fork.  Someone enroll this girl in a manners class ASAP.

Notice the bling?   In Eloise’s world, jewelry is an absolute must for a party.  Or any other occasion.

A girl who knows how to accessorize will go far in this world. What I’m trying to figure out is if that’s a good thing.

Lovely photos and jewels are an absolute must for any party I totally agree – now where I wonder have all mine disappeared to? Ah yes, I think the three year old in my midst has run off with what’s left of my collection yet again :-)

My 5-year-old, Hannah, would agree with Eloise on the bling front. She even covers her little brother with jewels, so convinced is she that everybody must glitter with light of a thousand suns. I actually think it’s kind of cool to see her fledgling style sense in action.

Great pics.

I have a groom for her. My eldest eats just like that-though he may be a bit old for her-almost 20 lol.

I love the look of determination on her face, AND the jewels! And I crackedup about the Accounting Excitment…I used to BE an accountant, and I understand the humor in that sentence!
